A presence in over 100 countries and more than 8500 training centres ensure that any City & Guilds qualification is recognised by employer's throughout the world as proof of the skills needed to get the job done. Digix are proud to be a City
& Guilds Approved Training and Examination centre offering qualifications in Information Technology.
What Qualifications can I get through Digix?
Our focus is on "In-Employment" education. Our students do not have time to attend full-time studies at university, but they are seeking a worthwhile tertiary qualification which is recognised by employers for promotion purposes. Students work at their own pace, attending select one-week courses from our schedule, doing assignments in-between and writing the exams when they are ready.
A City & Guilds Diploma is roughly equivalent to a university module in standard, so it is accepted by many universities (particularly in the UK) for credit purposes when registering for a university degree.
We offer two broad qualifications in IT from City & Guilds:
- Diploma In Programming.
- Diploma in Systems Support.
- The Diploma in Programming qualification can follow either the C# track, or the COBOL track. The C# track looks at modern programming languages, like C, C++ and C#, whereas the COBOL track is more traditional, and concentrates on business applications entirely.
- The Diploma in Systems Support is aimed at System Administrators and Computer Support Personnel working in the server environment using a Unix-like Operating System.
Examination times are flexibly scheduled to suit the busy professional. We often hold exams on Saturday mornings, in the evenings, or early morning before work. We are sure to have an examination schedule that suits your needs.
A City & Guilds Qualification through Digix Computers gives you many
benefits:
- Attending an approved course at Digix already puts you on
the path to certification. Your coursework will count in your credit should you wish to undertake a City and Guilds qualification at a later stage.
- Your qualification lasts a lifetime. It is not
vendor-specific, nor does it need to be "upgraded" with new software
releases. You can proudly display your certification as you would a university
or tecnikon qualification, and it will still have value decades from now.
- City and Guilds qualifications are recognised and respected by employers worldwide.
- The qualification is extendable. You start by getting a
"Certificate", but you may also study further to get a
"Diploma" and then an "Advanced Diploma". You study to the
level that suits you now, then upgrade any time in the future.
- You can budget for the qualification. Do not be frightened by stories of people who work towards an IT
qualification and run out of funds along the way, due to unexpected costs.
We have schemes in place that cap your expenses, so that you can budget. These
schemes do have conditions - we obviously cannot guarantee your success without
knowing your capability - but if you are capable and prepared to work, we will
fund the cost of rewrites and extra tuition to get you through.
